We’re live. After a lot of late nights and a fair bit of coffee, MyMotoMarket is open — New Zealand’s identity-verified marketplace for motorcycles, rider gear, parts and trailers.
Why we built it
We’re riders ourselves. Between us we’ve ridden everything from farm bikes and trail bikes to adventure, road and track bikes — and like most riders, we’ve spent years buying and selling online. We’ve also hit every frustration going: ghost listings, fake profiles, scammers, and marketplaces slowly filling up with new imported stock instead of genuine second-hand gear. We decided it was time for a new marketplace for motorcycles, gear, parts and trailers.
One experience stuck with us. A mate of ours was tricked by scammers into sharing his address and confirming he wasn’t home — and his dirt bike was stolen shortly after. That’s what can happen when anyone can trade anonymously. It’s the reason identity verification isn’t a feature of MyMotoMarket; it’s the foundation.
How it works
Every member — buyer or seller — verifies their ID before they can trade. It’s handled by Stripe, takes a few minutes with your current NZ driver licence or passport, and you only ever do it once. From then on, every enquiry you send or receive comes from a real, identifiable person.
Beyond that, it’s a straightforward classifieds marketplace: sellers list at an asking price, buyers message directly, and the sale happens between you — no auctions, no bidding wars, and no commission clipped from your sale. Ever.
The launch offer
To get things rolling, the first 300 members get membership free — identity verification included — and every listing is free until 30 September 2026. You’ll still go through the normal checkout steps, but you’ll see all charges are $0.
